UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
- ISEN Network’s leading NGO is the Barka Foundation from Poland, together with our other prominent network partner, the Municipality of Krobia, They are perfect examples from our Network who create social impact in individual lives of own citizens.
- In their regional collaboration efforts, they represent crucial role models who reflect hope by showing that every social change is possible when all the actors involved are devoted to the social causes of poverty eradication and dignified economic empowerment of marginalized groups. ISEN Network members strongly believe that our social entrepreneurship good practices can be a true inspiration and a substantial model for social re-integration of marginalized groups of citizens.
- Globally recognized, the Barka visionary model of social entrepreneurship is based on determination and devotion towards changing the circumstances of people living in poverty, contributing to their economic and overall self-empowerment. This model of collaboration in social entrepreneurship between civil society organizations, local and national authorities and their citizens has proven very successful and self-sustainable for local communities.
- The model is an actual proof reflecting the fact that local community empowerment efforts can bring long-term national and global changes. Based on this collaboration model, we as an ISEN Network are ready to make social changes and positive impact locally and globally, supporting the United Nations in their efforts to implement the Decade of Action for the Sustainable Development Goals.
- ISEN Network can contribute to the SDG Goals and the Decade of Action achievements by using social entrepreneurship in tackling poverty and hunger (Goals 1 and 2), quality education (Goal 4), gender equality (Goal 5), decent work and economic growth (Goal 8), industry, innovation and infrastructure (Goal 9), reduced inequalities (Goal 10), sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11), responsible production and consumption (Goal 12), peace, justice and strong institutions (Goals 16), and partnerships to achieve other goals (Goal 17). Actually, our members are already involved in projects and initiatives that are in line with the majority of the Sustainable Development Goals and will continue to do so in the future.
